NFSC450: Food and Nutrient Analysis
Students in the Nutrition and Food Science department at the University of Maryland are studying the practices of the analysis of foods and nutrients. In this upper level lab, we learn an overview of the principles and basic mechanisms used in many of the
analytical procedures commonly used in food and nutrition research.
As students in the lab, we get a hands-on development of skills necessary to
complete each analytical procedure.These skills are applicable to regulations concerning food analysis for nutritional labeling.

Jeewhan Hahm
Jeehwan is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Food Science. He loves to listen to music... and sleep. Originally an engineering major, it took years to figure out the right major. For now, he wishes to pass all the classes and graduate without much further delay. Jackie Forster Jackie Forster is a senior Nutritional Science major at the University of Maryland, College Park who plans to apply to medical school after graduation. When she's not in class or working on campus as a research assistant, she enjoys drinking large volumes of coffee, binge watching TV, and spending time with friends. Her greatest aspiration in life is to own a red panda. Felisha Wu Felisha Wu is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Nutritional Science. As Maryland native, she will be remain in her home town to attend UMD for a master's degree in Public Health, with a focus in Behavioral and Community Health. In her free time, Felisha enjoys swimming, baking, and hanging out with friends. Karishma Patel Karishma Patel is a Physiology & Neurobiology and Nutritional Science double major from Clarksburg, Maryland. In the future, she hopes to attend medical school. Some of her biggest dreams are to see all the wonders of the world, and own a pet dog. In her free time, Karishma enjoys playing volleyball, attempting to do Zumba, and eating Mexcian food! |
